What are check in and check out times?

Check in is from 4pm, check out is by 10am

Are linen and towels provided?

Yes, we provide you with all linen, a hand towel per bathroom, two teatowels, and a large bath towel per person.

What's the weather like in Moray?

Moray is famed for it’s microclimate of good weather. Although it’s often better weather than neighbouring Aberdeenshire or Highland, and certainly drier than the West Coast of Scotland, it is still North East Scotland. We suggest you prepare for all four seasons in one day, and hope for the best!

What are the midges like?

Midges are much better in Moray than in some other areas of Scotland. Unless you’re outside on still summer evenings, you shouldn’t be too bothered by them.

Where can we see a highland cow?

There are a few local highlanders, but we’d recommend a visit to our lovely friends Helen and Bill at Byres Farm near Spey Bay, where you can hand feed their Highland Cows.

Can we buy farm produce from you?

Yes, absolutely. Check out the Honeyhole shop, our wee honesty cart just along the road (IV30 8XL postcode should take you directly there) for a selection of honey, lip balm, jams, chutneys, marmalade, granola, and if you’re lucky, apple juice, eggs and home bakes. If you’re interested in purchasing our home produced lamb, just drop us a message 07928686787 or email hello@westfieldfarmsmoray.co.uk to enquire – price list is in the honesty shop.

Can we walk from the doorstep?

Yes, absolutely. We encourage you to explore the farm and include a map of some of our favourite walks and points of interest in the welcome book in each property or in the information hut at the caravan site. Have a look when you arrive.

Can we bring our horses or ponies?

Yes, please send us an email to enquire about horse stays. If staying in 1 Westfield, they can stay on your doorstep in the paddock beside the cottage. Additional charges apply.

How far is the nearest supermarket?

The nearest shop is Duffus store (approx 5 minute drive), which is our fairly well stocked village shop and post office for the essentials. For larger shops, there are supermarkets in Elgin (approx 10 minute drive) including Tesco, Asda, Aldi and Lidl. Deliveries can be arranged to any of our properties from Tesco, Asda or Sainsburys – we’d recommend giving the what3words location when you order to ensure your delivery arrives at the correct house as the postcode covers the whole farm!

Where can we buy local seafood?

We have a lovely fishmonger, Mark’s fresh fish (see facebook), who delivers to Westfield on Wednesdays – if you get in touch with him direct, he will deliver to your door (07740779951 or marksfreshfish@gmail.com)

What are your local restaurant recommendations?

The Bothy, Burghead (seasonal opening)
Bootleggers, Hopeman (seasonal opening)
Orin, Elgin
The Kimberly Inn, Findhorn
Harbour Lights, Lossiemouth
